N95 Mask Fit Testing
Work continues to train up a team in readiness for supporting an N95 mask fit testing programme for general practice. Each PHO will then have responsibility for enabling access to the testing team and managing the process. We appreciate this is slower progress than anticipated.
Some general practice teams may already have seen the MoH requirement asking all practices to complete a declaration form to receive P2/N95 particulate respirators from the Ministry’s PPE Central Supply. This needs to be authorised by the Owner/Director/Manager/Clinical Lead on behalf of the organisation and only needs to be completed once and returned to the Ministry of Health COVID Supply Chain email: COVID.HealthSupplyChain@health.govt.nz
All practice teams should be holding stocks of N95 (1860) masks as distributed by CPRG in March. A reminder that if utilising this stock it is important to ensure appropriate fit checking procedures are followed along with general N95 use as previously advised by CPRG.
